چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims There is increasing evidence about the alloreactivity of natural killer (NK) cells after kidney transplantation. The inhibition activation cycles NK are mainly regulated by cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) which may have extensive allelic polymorphisms within population. In this study, we examined KIR genes/genotypes in transplant recipients healthy subjects. We aimed to determine if there relations between certain genes graft function patients. Method Renal patients (n=131) controls (n=183) from same ethnic background with similar demographics were included. Transplant an obvious cause dysfunction presensitized excluded. Recruited classified as (GD) (n=38) or functioning (FG) (n=93) on basis allograft rejection dysfunction. Isolated DNA all participants typed for 16 specific primers using PCR. Patient groups compared clinical features. Results Significant differences observed KIR2DL3 KIR3DL1 that presented higher frequencies than (p=0.001 & p=0.006). Comparison GD FG revealed a protective association inhibitor gene KIR2DL1 (p=0.003, OR=0.148). Distribution remaining 15 rates genotype patterns not different among these patient groups. Conclusion more common was significantly frequent FG. suggest presence KIR2DL1, functions, might be associated favorable recipients.

Killer Cell Immunoglobulin-Like Receptor (KIR) Genotype Distribution in Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) Patients
BACKGROUND Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessive autoinflammatory disease predominantly affecting Mediterranean populations. The gene associated with FMF is the MEFV gene, which encodes for a protein called pyrin. Mutations of pyrin lead to uncontrolled attacks of inflammation, and subclinical inflammation continues during attack-free intervals. Killer cell immunoglobulin...

متن کاملKiller Immunoglobulin-like Receptor (KIR) and HLA Genotypes Affect the Outcome of Allogeneic Kidney Transplantation
BACKGROUND Recipient NK cells may detect the lack of recipient's (i.e., self) HLA antigens on donor renal tissue by means of their killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs). KIR genes are differently distributed in individuals, possibly contributing to differences in response to allogeneic graft. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS We compared frequencies of 10 KIR genes by PCR-SSP in 93 ki...
متن کاملAssociation between killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) polymorphisms and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in populations
BACKGROUND Recently, a growing number of studies show that the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) gene polymorphisms may play a role in the systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) susceptibility. Nonetheless, the results were inconsistent. Thus, a meta-analysis was carried out by integrating multiple research to clarify the association between KIR polymorphisms and SLE susceptibility. ...
متن کاملKiller-cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptor (KIR) gene profiles modify HIV disease course, not HIV acquisition in South African women
BACKGROUND Killer-cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptors (KIR) interact with Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) to modify natural killer- and T-cell function. KIR are implicated in HIV acquisition by small studies that have not been widely replicated. A role for KIR in HIV disease progression is more widely replicated and supported by functional studies. METHODS To assess the role of KIR and KIR ligan...
